Alligator f1 cucumbers are an early ripe vegetable crop that forms a mass crop one and a half months after full germination. This bee-pollinated hybrid is characterized by prolonged fruiting and is recommended for cultivation in spring film greenhouses, as well as on ridges of open ground.
The variety is included in the State Register of the Russian Federation as suitable for growing in spring film unheated greenhouses in private household plots. The originator of this hybrid form is the well-known agricultural company Zedek.
Bushes are vigorous, medium-braided, with a bundle type of ovaries. The length of the main stem is about 2.5 m. The length of marketable greens is from 35 cm to 40 cm, weight 300-310 g. The surface is coarse-humped. The shape is elongated-cylindrical.
The pulp is tender, juicy, sweet, without bitterness. The plant is disease resistant and is not affected by the cucumber mosaic virus and powdery mildew. In addition, the originator of the variety declared high stress resistance of plants. The total yield of this hybrid form varies from 14 to 16 kg / m². The taste and marketability of cucumbers are high.
Under this hybrid form of cucumbers with a high level of fruiting, plots with a good quality soil composition should be allocated, which are illuminated by the sun for the longest time. It is very important to use for landing areas where there is no close location of groundwater, and there is no risk of flooding due to heavy rainfall.
The soil should be well warmed up and fertilized. The most loose and light soil is suitable for cucumbers, so that the surface root system of the plant can get enough nutrition for abundant fruiting. Sowing seed material is necessary after the threat of spring frost passes, when the soil warms up to 10-12 ° C. The sowing pattern is 50 x 50 cm when deepening the prepared seed material by 3-4 cm. Seeds are recommended to be kept before sowing in a solution of potassium permanganate, and then dried.
Like most other long-fruited varieties, the Alligator f1 hybrid form needs to be irrigated with warm water at least twice a week, and also responds well to spraying leaves with warm water. HIn order to increase productivity and extend the fruiting period, it is advisable to perform foliar top dressing with urea solution a couple of times a season.
A good result is recorded when growing cucumbers using trellis. However, it must be remembered that powerful and highly developed long-fruited varieties require the most durable and reliable designs, since the large weight of the green mass can cause breakdown of the light trellis and breakage of the ropes.
So that the greens of cucumbers of this hybrid form are correct, even and beautiful, they must necessarily hang.
Most of the vegetable growers liked the cucumbers of this hybrid form: they are tasty, fruitful, and bear fruit quite early, so the reviews are always positive. Some disadvantages include the fact that Zelentsy are intended for fresh consumption and the preparation of various salads, but are not suitable for salting and canning.
