Description of the New Jersey variety claims the formation of large, rounded-shaped fruits covered with attractive yellow peels with a bright blush. Ripe pulp has average density, has a golden yellow color. The average weight of the commercial fruit exceeds the figures of 50 g. The taste is very good, sweet-sour fruits are perfect for fresh consumption and for preservation. The stone is quite easily separated from the pulp at the stage of complete ripening of apricots.
Both young plantings and adult plants have a well-developed fibrous root system and are not prone to overgrowth. The maximum height indicators of an adult productive tree do not exceed four meters. The American variety is characterized by early ripening, and mass harvesting occurs in early July. The frost resistance reaches -30 ° C, which is a very good level for most regions of our country.

New Jersey apricot trees are characterized by such features as shedding of fruit before harvesting. Such a property of the variety implies an earlier collection of fruits, even before the transition of green surface staining to a pronounced yellow color.
The causes of premature fall of the fruit, in addition to varietal predisposition, may be as follows:
- plant disease with moniliosis, or gray fruit rot, which in recent years has been increasingly affecting almost all stone fruit garden crops, and in particular apricots, peaches and cherry trees;
- the fruits may fall if the timely rationing of garden plantings is not fulfilled;
- shedding of ovaries or not fully ripened fruits is also observed with an insufficient level of agricultural technology, in particular, with non-compliance with the regime of irrigation measures and insufficient nutrition of productive apricot trees.
To correct the situation, it is enough to slightly move the timing of the harvest, as well as adjust the irrigation and make appropriate foliar top dressing. Also, basic preventive measures should not be neglected, including the protection of fruiting plants from damage by moniliosis.
The main care for New Jersey apricot trees in the first years of growth and development involves watering, loosening the soil to a depth of not more than 7-8 cm, removing weed vegetation, and using organic mulch.
In the spring, before buds open, trunks are cleaned of dead bark, sanitary and formative pruning of the crown, as well as preventive spraying of plants against diseases and pests. In summer, if necessary, re-treatment of garden plantings should be carried out. Of particular importance is the autumn preparation of apricot trees for winter, including top dressing, pruning, digging the soil in near-stem circles, preventive treatment and warming before severe frosts.
The health status and productivity indicators of apricot trees largely depend on the safety of the stem and skeletal branches.
