Bagir blackcurrant: description and characteristics of the variety


Black Bagira is a currant of an amazing variety. Its main characteristics can be called the average spreading of the bush, as well as mid-ripening berries.

Bagir currant has a wide range of applications. This is a real storehouse of vitamins. Of particular importance is blackcurrant in herbal medicine specialists who use everything in their business: leaves, twigs, and, of course, berries.

Bagir blackcurrant variety bred by domestic breeders. In the mid-90s, this variety of berry culture was included in the State Register of Crops, the cultivation of which is possible in the North-West, Volga-Vyatka, Ural, Middle Volga, West Siberian and East Siberian districts.

Bagir currant dumps foliage late enough. In many respects, this sort of currant is valuable for people involved in herbal medicine. It so happens that the bush keeps leaves on the branches until the onset of frost and even leaves them for the winter.

Bagira leaves are five-fingered. Coloring from light green to deep green tones. The sheet plate is dull and smooth. The edges of the leaf are wavy. The flowers of black currant are medium in size, have a goblet shape.

Bushes of berries of this variety are characterized by rather accelerated growth. After 1 or 2 years after planting a seedling in the soil, you can expect a rich harvest. Mid-season Bagira gives about 4.5-5 kg ​​of berries from one bush.

The fruits of the bush themselves are very large. They have practically no sourness, usually inherent in currants. The berries have a rather dense dark shiny peel. Ripening occurs simultaneously. It is precisely these characteristics of Bagiri blackcurrant that give it tangible advantages over other varieties used as a commercial product or in industrial applications. The described blackcurrant variety is only not resistant to pests. Of particular danger to him are rust and a tick. For this reason, it is necessary to spray bushes with special solutions in a timely manner.

How to plant currants

Most crops growing in summer cottages and household plots require good lighting and sun-warming plots. A rare plant survives in moderate shading. But just such conditions are preferred by Bagheera blackcurrant variety. Besides, the shadow allows you to avoid the appearance of burns on the plant from scorching sunlight. Before planting currant seedlings in a specially dug hole with sides of about 0.5 m, 1 bucket of humus, 300 g of superphosphate, 50 g of potassium sulfate, a little wood ash are poured out. All introduced components mix well. A bush of currant is planted in the pit. It is necessary to deepen it and carefully pour water. In addition, it is necessary to mulch to preserve moisture in the soil. Planted currants should be cut by about 2-3 buds.

Caring for a plant is not particularly difficult for gardeners and gardeners. We can say that Bagir's blackcurrant variety requires completely uncomplicated natural methods of agrotechnical care.

Bagira shrub is distinguished by average growth power. Approximately 5 years after planting a seedling, subject to all conditions, the site owner should notice about 3-4 shoots on the bush for each year the bush grows. At the same place, the bush can grow for about a decade and a half. It is only necessary to remove the old shoots of the plant, gradually preparing new ones for substitution.

The reproduction of Black Bagheera occurs with the help of layering or shoots, which are quite easy to root.
