The Dekabrinka pear, under selection number 73-33-65, was obtained by domestic breeders when crossing a selected seedling of the Ussuri pear from the Limonovka Issykkulskaya family and Forest Beauty with an elite seedling under number 143. Famous and experienced breeders became the authors of the description of the variety E.A. Falkenberg, M.A. Mazunin, and L.I. Bolotova.

Variety characteristics and description

Pear domestic variety "Dekabrinka" is characterized by medium growth force. The height of adult fruit trees does not exceed 4.5-5 m. The crown of an adult fruit tree is rounded and rather dense. The branches of a tree with a rare arrangement extend at a right angle. The main fruiting of the tree focuses on spurs, or fruit twigs.

Adult shoots are medium, straight, brownish in color, without pubescence. Kidneys of small size, round, pressed. The foliage is small, smooth and shiny. Stipules are lanceolate.

The pear fruit of this variety is medium or below medium size. The average weight of the marketable fruit is about 95-105 g. One-dimensional pear-shaped fruits of regular shape, with a smooth surface, have high commercial qualities. The color of the fruits at the harvesting stage is green, and when fully ripe, it changes to a dark yellow color with a slight blush. The seed material is large, egg-shaped, dark brown in color.

The pulp is whitish in color, somewhat rough, but juicy. It has a low aroma and a good sour-sweet taste.

Fruiting occurs seven years after planting annual seedlings in a permanent place and grows rapidly. The variety is characterized by very late flowering, which allows you to protect the flowers and ovaries from the negative effects of late return frosts in spring. The best pollinators for Dekabrinka are late-flowering varieties, including Uralochka and Larinskaya. Yields are quite high and stable. The early maturity of this plant variety is estimated as quite average.

Pear contains a rather high content of vitamins P, E, B, A and C, as well as substances necessary for the body in the form of manganese, cobalt, iodine and potassium.

The benefits of pears in folk medicine have long been known. It has an antitussive and disinfectant, antipyretic and diuretic, as well as fixing effects on the body.
